NJ Bike Club
A ride club out of Hamilton Park, Jersey City. Free to join. No drop. All paces.
NJ Bike Club is the ride club of The Jersey City Bicycle Company — family-owned at 231 Pavonia Ave in Hamilton Park since 2016. We meet at the shop, roll out together, and come back to the shop. That's the whole idea: a regular crew, real routes, and a bike shop as the clubhouse.
The rides
Sunday Club Ride — our flagship. Wheels down 8:00 AM every Sunday from the shop. We closed the shop on Sundays partly so we could ride — this is that ride. Routes rotate week to week: the Hudson River waterfront up to the GWB and 9W, the Liberty State Park and Bayonne loop when we want it flat and social, and the occasional climb day. The shop itself is closed Sundays, so we meet outside and ride. No register, no repairs — just the ride.
Weekday Evening Spin — coming soon. A shorter one after work, about an hour to ninety minutes on the waterfront. Lights required. Which weekday? Our members pick it — the spin launches on the night the club votes for. This is the city riders' ride: roll off the PATH at Grove Street or Exchange Place — both a few minutes from the shop — ride the waterfront, and still make a train home.
Every ride is no-drop with a sweep rider, the route is posted in advance, and the weather call goes out the evening before. Ride details go out to the club list by email — get on the list and you're in.
First rides roll late November. Join the club list and the inaugural ride date lands in your inbox before it's posted anywhere else.
New to group riding? Come anyway. The Sunday ride is the one to start with.

Coming from NYC?
This club lives on the Jersey side — but half the riders we know come over the river to ride with us, and there's a reason.
- The PATH is the whole commute. Grove Street is minutes from the World Trade Center station; Exchange Place is one stop from WTC. Bikes ride the PATH off-peak, and folded bikes ride anytime. From either station, it's a few flat minutes to the shop.
- The riding starts immediately. From our door you're on the Hudson River waterfront, headed for the GWB and 9W — no spending an hour in city traffic just to reach the ride. This is where NYC riders come FROM; NJ Bike Club is the club.
- The Weekday Evening Spin is built around the train. PATH in after work, waterfront miles, PATH home — the ride above is timed for exactly that.
- Shop service without the city markup or the city wait. Tune-ups, fittings, storage, and repairs at our Jersey City shop, booked online the same way our local riders book: Tune-Ups · Bike Fitting · Winter Storage · Rentals. Apartment riders: the storage is the one your building wishes you'd find.
