The Fairdale Ridgemont is the kind of bike that reminds you why you wanted a bike in the first place.

Just get on and ride.

Built around a durable steel frame, comfortable BMX-inspired cockpit, simple 8-speed drivetrain, and wide 27.5" Maxxis tires, the Ridgemont is an excellent everyday bike for riding around Jersey City, commuting to work, cruising Liberty State Park, heading to the waterfront, running errands, or simply getting outside for a ride.

Available now at The Jersey City Bicycle Company in Jersey City, NJ in M/L and Matte Cool Mint.

Why We Love the Fairdale Ridgemont

Some bikes try to do too much.

The Ridgemont keeps things refreshingly simple.

Its relaxed geometry and BMX-inspired handlebars create a comfortable, confidence-inspiring riding position, while the wide 27.5" x 2.1" Maxxis Pace tires help smooth out rough pavement, cracks, bumps, and the less-than-perfect streets that come with city riding.

The MicroShift 8-speed drivetrain gives you useful gearing for everyday riding without adding unnecessary complexity.

The result is a bike that's approachable for newer riders but still genuinely fun for experienced cyclists.

Made for Everyday Jersey City Riding

Looking for a bike that can handle your everyday life?

This is where the Ridgemont shines.

Ride it to work. Take it down to the waterfront. Cruise through Hamilton Park. Head over to Liberty State Park. Throw on a rack and use it for errands. Or just take it out because it's a beautiful day and you feel like riding.

The Ridgemont isn't trying to be a racing bike or a hardcore mountain bike.

It's a really good bike for actually riding your bike.

Who Is the Fairdale Ridgemont For?

We recommend the Ridgemont for riders looking for a:

  • Comfortable city bike

  • Everyday commuter

  • Neighborhood cruiser

  • Casual fitness bike

  • Bike for parks and bike paths

  • Simple alternative to complicated modern bikes

  • Durable bike for regular urban riding

  • First quality adult bicycle

  • Bike for getting back into cycling after time away

If your priority is comfort, durability, simplicity and fun, the Ridgemont deserves a look.

M/L — Recommended for Riders Approximately 5'6"–6'0"

We currently stock the Fairdale Ridgemont in M/L.

Recommended Rider Height: approximately 5'6"–6'0"

Bike sizing isn't determined by height alone. Leg length, torso length, riding position and personal preference can all affect how a bicycle fits.

Not sure if the M/L is right for you?

Visit The Jersey City Bicycle Company and we'll help you check the fit before you buy.

8 Speeds. No Fuss.

For a city bike, simplicity is a feature.

Instead of adding multiple front chainrings and additional controls, the Ridgemont uses a straightforward 1x8 drivetrain.

You get one shifter controlling eight gears.

That's it.

The 36T front chainring paired with an 11–34T MicroShift 8-speed drivetrain gives you useful gearing for everyday city riding while keeping operation and maintenance straightforward.

Wide 27.5" Maxxis Tires

City streets aren't always smooth.

The Ridgemont uses Maxxis Pace 27.5" x 2.1" tires, giving you considerably more tire underneath you than you'd find on a traditional narrow-tire road bike.

That extra volume helps create a comfortable and confidence-inspiring ride over everyday pavement, cracks, bumps and mixed urban surfaces.

Ready for Racks & Fenders

Want to turn your Ridgemont into a commuter?

The steel frame includes rack and fender mounts, making it easy to customize the bike around how you actually ride.

Add a rear rack and bag for commuting or groceries. Add fenders for wet-weather riding. Add lights, a lock, bottle cage or phone mount.

Our team at JCBC can help you build out the bike for your particular riding needs.

Professionally Assembled by The Jersey City Bicycle Company

A bike is only as good as its assembly.

When you purchase your Fairdale from The Jersey City Bicycle Company, you're not simply getting a bike pulled out of a box.

Your bike is professionally assembled, adjusted and safety-checked by our team before it leaves the shop.

We check the bike's major mechanical systems, make the necessary adjustments, and make sure it's ready for its first ride.

And we're still here after you buy it.

Need a fit adjustment? Accessories? Maintenance? A repair six months from now?

You have a local bike shop you can come back to.

That's the difference between simply buying a bike and buying your bike from a bike shop.
