The Jersey City Bicycle Company – Rental Policy

The Jersey City Bicycle Company is committed to providing exceptional bicycle rental services while prioritizing the safety and well-being of our customers. To ensure a positive rental experience for all parties involved, we enforce the following Rental Policy:

All Sales Are Final

All bicycle rental sales are final. No refunds will be issued once payment has been processed.

Assumption of Responsibility

By renting a bicycle from The Jersey City Bicycle Company, the renter acknowledges and accepts full responsibility for their actions and the consequences thereof while operating the rented bicycle.

Acknowledgment of Risks

Renters understand and acknowledge that bicycling involves inherent risks, including but not limited to falls, collisions, and other accidents that may result in injury or property damage.

Release of Liability

Renters agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless The Jersey City Bicycle Company, its employees, agents, and affiliates from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from or related to the rental and use of the bicycle.

Condition of Bicycle

Renters are responsible for inspecting the bicycle prior to rental and notifying The Jersey City Bicycle Company of any existing damage or defects. By renting the bicycle, the renter acknowledges that it is in good working condition and accepts it as is. The Jersey City Bicycle Company shall not be held liable for any issues that may arise while riding the rented bicycle, including but not limited to flat tires, chain breakage, or other mechanical failures. Renters assume all risks associated with the use of the rented bicycle and agree to ride at their own discretion and with due care.

Safe Operation

Renters agree to operate the bicycle in a safe and lawful manner, obeying all traffic laws, signals, and regulations. It is the renter's responsibility to use appropriate safety equipment, including helmets and lights, as required by local laws.

Reporting of Accidents

In the event of an accident, injury, or damage involving the rented bicycle, renters must promptly notify The Jersey City Bicycle Company and provide all relevant details and documentation as requested.

Damage or Theft of Bicycle

If the rented bicycle is damaged or stolen while in the renter's possession, the renter is responsible for covering the full cost of the bicycle. The Jersey City Bicycle Company will assess the damage or replacement cost, and the renter agrees to pay this amount in full on the scheduled rental return date.

Use of Bicycle

The renter agrees to use the bicycle in a safe and responsible manner, following all applicable laws and regulations.

Maintenance and Care

The renter is responsible for the proper maintenance and care of the rented bicycle during the rental period. Any damages resulting from neglect or misuse will be the responsibility of the renter.

Return of Bicycle

The renter agrees to return the bicycle to The Jersey City Bicycle Company at 231 Pavonia Ave, Jersey City NJ 07302 in the same condition as when it was rented, by the agreed-upon return time & date. The renter acknowledges that The Jersey City Bicycle Company is not responsible for the transportation of the bicycle in any capacity. It is the renter's sole responsibility to return the bicycle to the designated return location, regardless of its condition. If the bicycle is no longer rideable or the renter is unable to return it, the renter is responsible for any fees incurred in transporting the bicycle back.

Late Returns

Late returns will incur a late fee equal to the complete daily rental cost for each day beyond the agreed-upon return date.

Duration of Agreement

This Rental Policy remains in effect for the duration of the rental period and extends to any extensions or renewals thereof.

Minors

If the renter is under the age of 18, a guardian's signature on this Rental Agreement indicates their approval of the minor's participation.
